1. Begin with a preliminary fold. Fold a square in half diagonally. Make the valley fold as indicated.

2. Squash fold the flap as marked.

3. Turn the model over.

4. Squash fold the flap as indicated.

5. Completed preliminary fold.

1. Begin with the preliminary fold above, open end downwards. Petal fold to the front according to the markings. Turn model over and repeat in back.

2. With petal folds completed, valley fold the top flaps downwards in front and behind.

3. Completed bird base.
