AD DAY at Teamail encourages vendors of any type of *retail* tea-related businesses to post a commercial message about their products or services, and gives our members the opportunity to learn about new products and vendors.

AD DAY normally takes place on the first Wednesday of each month, with occasional seasonal changes.  This consumer-oriented promotional service is free of charge to current Teamail members.

Teamail members are strongly advised to review all protocols before posting your AD DAY message. Sorry, but any message that does not follow AD DAY protocols will not be posted. *No exceptions.* We appreciate your following the rules.

_____________________________________________________________

RULES FOR AD DAY:

AD DAY is for RETAIL-oriented adverts only. Your product and/or service must be available and of interest to consumers. Sorry, no wholesale-only or B2B adverts. (See our "sister" group, TEA-Online, for tea business networking.)

AD DAY is for commercial messages only: what product/service you sell and where to find it. No other content is acceptable. Sorry: *No exceptions.*

The Subject line of your message must start with AD DAY followed by the name of your company or business.

Good example: AD DAY Happy Wombat Tea Company.

Good example: AD DAY Happy Wombat Tea Company New Teas and Teapots.

Bad example: AD DAY New teas and teapots from Happy Wombat.

Bad example: New teas and teapots from Happy Wombat - AD DAY

You must follow the Good format if you want your AD DAY message posted.

Agents for franchises or networks, such as a home tea party business: the Subject line of your message should read AD DAY followed by the type of business and location (for example: AD DAY In-Home Tea Parties in Toronto). You may not link to the main company's website. If you have your own personal website separate from the main company website you may include a link to that site, or include your telephone number and/or email address.

*ONE* post per business/member. The post must be about your own business, not a third party. No postings by advertising agencies or PR firms are permitted. If you are promoting a joint venture product or event, all participants in the joint venture must be Teamail members, but only one member may promote the joint venture on any AD DAY. (That member may not post a second AD DAY message for their own business only.)

Affiliate marketing, pyramids, and similar schemes are not permitted on Teamail at any time.

Please keep your postings BRIEF: ONE screenload, including signature. Messages longer than one screenload will be returned or deleted. (Not sure what a screenload is? Start keying in your message. When the page begins to scroll, you have reached one screenload.)

AD DAY messages are for commercial postings only: what you are selling and how to find it. General information, anecdotes, or any other "tea chat" should be sent in a separate non-commercial message.

You may post a general promotion of your business, or you may promote specific or special items or services. Exclusive offers for Teamail members are very much encouraged!

Send your post on AD DAY between midnight and 11.59pm (this always refers to your local time). Sorry, AD DAY messages sent at any other time will be deleted unless cleared in advance with the List Administrators.

Your message must direct members to your website for more details. If you do not have a website, or operate only a brick-and-mortar business like a tea room, you may instead include your walk-in business' address and telephone number instead.

AD DAY messages may *NOT* contain nor promote:

  • Personal websites of any kind. Only commercial (sales) messages are permitted.
  • Personal or commercial mailing lists, chat rooms, blogs, zines, or message boards.
  • MySpace, FaceBook, LinkedIn, or similar "meet-up" sites.
  • Societies, Red Hat chapters, or any other type of group, online or off-line.
  • Solicitation for contributors or content for your online or offline publication.
  • Goodies, games, articles, stories, anecdotes, directories, photos, travelogues, or *any* other non-commercial content of your website.
  • Free tea newsletters or publications. (You may advertise tea newsletters or publications that you *sell.*)
  • Giveaways or contests.
  • Charitable contributions or donations.
  • Business, franchise, consulting, real estate, or job offerings, even if tea-related.

If you are a tea-related merchant and have any type of "freebies" on your website, Teamail members will find it when they visit your site to *shop* for the items or services you are offering in your AD DAY message. Sorry: *No exceptions.*

Remember that HTML and images are stripped from all messages before they are distributed via Teamail. We recommend that you compose your AD DAY message in plain text to avoid reformatted or missing content. (This also applies to formatting of your automated signature.)

Again, AD DAY normally is scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month, but this can (and often does) vary. Watch Teamail messages for AD DAY announcements with Subject line AD DAY Call to merchants.

For more information about commercial postings and AD DAY, see the related FAQ  -- or contact the List Admins at teamail-owner@yahoogroups.com.

Please also keep in mind that the Terms of Service and Guidelines of our list host, YahooGroups, state that using a group to solicit members for another group, or for "harvesting" group members' email addresses to populate your group, are not permitted and may result in loss of YahooGroups membership.

If you have questions please the List Admins direct, off-list at teamail-owner@yahoogroups.com.
